Hof zu Lafogl of Peter Lageder
Inspired by a poppy-seed strudel that his sister had once baked for him, Peter Lageder started to cultivate his land in 2012 and has been focusing on growing poppy ever since. There is a great deal of effort involved: intensive weed harvesting, which begins at an early stage of growth, the challenging harvesting, the drying of the poppy seeds and the meticulous separation of the seeds. The beautiful, although very short-lived flowers and the delicious strudel baked with poppy seeds make it all worthwhile, though!
