Josef Reiterer grew up on a Bauernhof in Mölten. After completing his training at Laimburg and his apprenticeship at the Staatsweingut Bad Kreuznach, the young oenologist made a name for himself in the field of cellar technology before returning to his Heimathof. Together with his wife Marianne, he started in 1979 with the first 300 bottles of sparkling wine and founded the first sparkling wine cellar in South Tyrol. At an altitude of 1,200 meters, the conditions for growing, maturing, and storing these exquisite, finely sparkling drops are ideal. The fruity, complex sparkling wines with a long-lasting fine perlage have a maturation period of at least 24 months. Some of the sparkling wines even mature for 60 months before they are traditionally riddled and disgorged.
