Brunner Bakery is located in Maiern in the Ridnaun Valley, a side valley near Sterzing. Franz and Maria Brunner founded the business in 1960; since 2000, their son Egon and his wife Erika have been running the bakery together with five employees. The flour for their breads and baked goods comes from Rieper Mill in Vintl, the fresh milk from Sterzing Dairy. The bakery has become known especially for its "Ridnaun Schüttelbrot" and the "Ridnaun Gramblbrot" – both can now be found in South Tyrolean delicatessens, inns and hotels, as well as in Austria and Germany.
