In the 1950s, the mountain farm on the Ritten sun plateau came into family ownership – back then with cattle on the pastures. In 2013, Fabian, freshly graduated from the Laimburg agricultural school, decided together with his father Friedl to convert the farm to winemaking. Today Fabian and Sophia cultivate two hectares of vineyard at 1,050 meters altitude. The cold autumn nights allow the grapes to retain their acidity naturally – ideal for sparkling wine production without added acid. The mountain farm has become a winery, with views of the Dolomites.
