At Turmbachhof in Eppan (built around 1190 and formerly the residence of the court scribe), our family has been involved in the production and processing of food for nine generations, which originally came primarily from the cultivation of our own land. Thus, wine from our own grapes has always been pressed at Turmbachhof. With particular care, an "Essigmutter" (mother of vinegar) in porphyry stone was also maintained, which gave the house vinegar a special vitality. In 1966, Alfons Walcher also built a distillery at Turmbachhof, whose products are now successfully sold on 5 continents. Committed to the tradition of good taste and following their professional passion, the Walcher brothers decided in 2017 to establish their own gourmet manufactory for food specialties in Kaltern. To revive old recipes with new technology and thus express the unique taste of South Tyrol, that is the goal of the new business sector. To achieve this goal, the family relies primarily on organically grown raw materials and gentle processing without any additives.
